John Christopher Knight and family live self-sufficiently without electricity, farm organically with horses and train Border Collies in rural Ky. Having never pursued a music career, his incredible story began while camping at a Border collie event and he was overheard playing. In March he hit 44 on the AMA Radio Airplay Charts, two spots shy of Dixie Chicks. Recently featured on CNN and The Today Show, PBS, radio, TV and newspapers around the country. Though still farming and training Border collies, Knight is now performing selective venues. His original music and unique vocals are entwined with heart tugging lyrics that echo reflections common to all. Joined by several of his 9 children, everyone plays multiple instruments. Live, the performance is “MUCH more than music”. A gifted storyteller, writer, composer and musician, an audience is able to briefly embrace what most have only imagined, as their hearts are taken captive, and drawn into his family’s world. is Pristine pure" David Corlew - manager for Charlie Daniels
and President of "LA Academy of Country Music." Drew Cook,
a professional videographer, filmed the Knight family performing
daily activities of life without the use of electricity. Cooking,
washing, making clothes, plowing, tending the garden and making
hay with horses. Brief glimpses of John Deer, the family pet with
Kate, the youngest of their 9 children. Also Justin, son who plays
acoustic leads on CD.is making handmade rocking chairs the same
way they did in 1700. Split out with froe and axe and whittled out
with a two-handed draw knife. Carefully and painstakingly constructed
completely with hand tools. This captivating mini-documentary ends
with a music video of cut one from their CD. Nail on the head lyrics
that satirically encourage materialism and discontentment, are laid
into a bed of visual stark contrast; a simple and hard, yet satisfying
life not related to ease or physical comforts. A years worth of
footage was boiled down into a short but powerful masterpiece that
